Woman Murdered In Oldham
Greater Manchester Police have arrested a man following the murder of a woman in Oldham.
Just before 10.10 on the morning of Sunday 8 December 2013, police were called to a house on Springwood Hall Road, following reports a woman had been stabbed.
Officers discovered a 22-year-old had been stabbed in the chest. She was taken to hospital for treatment where she suffered a cardiac arrest and died.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning.
Man Jailed For Manslaughter Of Flatmate
A man has been jailed for manslaughter after battering a friend to death at a tower block flat they shared in Aston.
41-year-old Anthony O’Connell killed Andrew Davies-Stanley at the Barry Jackson Tower apartment by punching and kicking him.
Police were called to the flat by Mr O’Connell, who told officers he had been arguing with his 51-year-old flatmate over some missing money.
O’Connell was found guilty after a week-long trial at Birmingham Crown Court in August and was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment.
He will serve a minimum of eight years behind bars before being considered for parole.
Met Police Launch Murder Investigation
Metropolitan Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a murder investigation was launched in Harlesden on 6 December.
Police were called at around 01:30 to reports of gunshots heard in Elgar Avenue, NW10.
Officers attended but no injured party was found.
Just before 02:00, police were called to a man, aged 20, having attended a north-west London hospital suffering gunshot wounds.
He was later pronounced dead at around 09:40hrs.
It is believed the victim was involved in an altercation at an address in Mulberry Court, NW10, during which he was shot.

CCTV Released Over Wirral Murder
Detectives investigating the murder of a man in West Kirby in Wirral have released CCTV for the first time.
The first footage shows a man that detectives believe to be the offender entering Paton Close shortly after 21:30 walking towards the victim, Jonathan Britton's, house.
The footage then shows a man leaving Paton Close in the direction of Gilroy Road wearing a draw-string bag on his back.
Mr Britton, 43, died from stab wounds inflicted after he answered a knock at his door on Tuesday night.
A 38-year-old Tranmere man who was arrested early on Wednesday morning on suspicion of murder.
A 23-year-old man, also from Tranmere in Birkenhead, has also been arrested.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.

Police investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old in Liverpool on Saturday have arrested two men and a woman. Teenager Kevin Wilson was shot in the back in Wavertree on Saturday, in what police described as a "targeted attack". Police have arrested a 54-year-old man from Toxteth, and a man and woman from Kensington, both aged 37.

The attacks took place in Shipley, West Yorkshire on Monday. 84-year-old Louisa Denby was found murdered at her home by police investigating an attack on a 9-year-old boy at a skate park.

The body of Stefan Welch, 37, was found between the 17th and 18th holes at the Dyke Golf club on Saturday. A post-mortem revealed that he probably died from a blow to the head.

Mother and baby murder - father 'in UK'
A British man whose wife and baby daughter were found murdered in the US is believed to be in the UK. US detectives have confirmed that Neil Entwistle, 27, is outside the US and that while they have spoken with him, they have declined to reveal any further details.
