DNA Evidence Frees Man After 17 Years In Jail

A 53-year-old man has been released from prison after serving 17 years for a crime he did not commit.

The Court of Appeal freed Victor Nealon after new evidence cast doubt on his conviction for attempted rape in January 1997.

Nealon had always denied being the woman's attacker.

He was freed today after judges accepted new DNA evidence.

Four Match-Fixing Accused Appear In Court

Four men accused of match-fixing are due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court.

Former Whitehawk FC players Michael Boateng and Hakeem Adelakun, both 22, will appear alongside 33-year-old Chann Sankaran and 43-year-old Krishna Sanjey Ganeshan, from Singapore are accused of conspiring to defraud bookmakers.

It is understood that a plea hearing will be held on 07 March and a provisional trial date has been set of 19 May.

Walking With The Wounded Expedition Reaches South Pole

Prince Harry and the Walking With The Wounded expedition has reached the South Pole.

Organisers have said that the group reached the pole at 12:00 today (Friday) after three weeks of pulling sleds.

The expedition was made up of 12 injured servicemen and women from the UK, the US and the Commonwealth were on the 200-mile walk.

Mother Accused Of Killing Her Babies 'Too Ill' To Appear Before Court
34-year-old Felicia Boots, accused of killing her two babies, is too ill to appear in court. Boots is accused of murdering 10-week-old Mason and his 14-month-old sister Lily at their family home and was due to appear by videolink from Holloway prison on Tuesday morning to be formally remanded after first appearing before magistrates.

Four Appear In Court Accused Of Murder
A man and three teenagers have appeared in court accused of murdering a young boy in a public park. Amar Aslam, 17, was found in a West Yorkshire park on Sunday evening by two passers-by. Emergency services were called to Crow Nest Park, Dewsbury at around 7.00pm but Amar was pronounced dead at the scene.

Thailand murder - accused appear in court
Two Thai men accused of the rape and murder of British tourist Katherine Horton have appeared in court. Bualoy Kotsith, 23 and Vichai Suankhaoyai, 24, were arrested on Monday in connection with the 21-year-old Cardiff student's death.
