Two Bodies Found After Kayakers Go Missing
Two bodies have been recovered in a search for three missing kayakers on the River Tyne in Northumberland.
Police were alerted when the South Shields men failed to return home on Sunday after going kayaking in Hexham. Emergency services were conducting the search and rescue operation since the alert was raised.
The police, fire crews and a Sea King rescue helicopter were also involved in the major inquiry which recovered one body from the river at Riding Mill at 05.00 and the other in the Corbridge area at 06.20 which are being identifying.
Two kayaks have been recovered and the missing men's vehicles have also beenlocated near to Hexham Rowing Club and Wylam train station car park.
Superintendent Steve Howes, from Northumberland area command, said: "Our searches of the area are continuing today with assistance from the HM Coastguard and RAF Boulmer.”

Police were alerted after brothers Darren Thorpe, 41, Mark Thorpe, 39, and their cousin Gavin Bradley, 36, all from South Shields, were reported missing at 11.00pm last Sunday when they failed to return home.

Body Recovered In Missing Canoeist Search
A body has been recovered by police in a search for a missing canoeist in Edinburgh. A major search operation was launched on Saturday evening for 29-year-old Darren Gilpin, when his boat capsized in the Killin area. Mr Gilpin and a second man had been out in the boat when the incident happened.

Body Recovered From Sea In Search For Missing Teen
Police investigating the disappearance of 14-year-old Hollie McClymont have confirmed a body has been recovered from the sea. The body has not yet been identified but it is understood that Hollie's parents have been told about the discovery and searches are now over.
