Three Dead Following Crash In Nottinghamshire

Three people have died in an accident on the A1 in Nottinghamshire on Sunday night.

Emergency services were called to the area at about 11.20pm following reports of a collision involving a number of vehicles.

A stretch of the A1 was closed in both directions overnight and diversions were put in place. Two lanes of the northbound carriageway, which was shut from Five Lane Ends, re-opened at about 7am this morning according to the police.

The southbound carriageway remains closed from Blyth.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Driver Dies In Four Lorry Collision
A man has been killed in a collision involving four lorries on the M1 this morning. The incident happened around 4:40am between junctions 15 at Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire. The driver of one of the lorries was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other three drivers received minor injuries.

Section Of M1 Closed Following Fatal Collision
A section of the northbound carriageway of the M1 between junction 16 and 17 is closed following a fatal road traffic accident. A man died after his car collided with a lorry in the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to police. No other details of the victim have been released.

Two Bodies Discovered In Buried Car
The bodies of a man and a woman have been found in a car buried under a pile of earth near a partly-collapsed tunnel in Dorset. The bodies were discovered in the car near the Beaminster Tunnel on Monday evening. The car was unearthed near the A3066 tunnel, which has been closed since 7 July after a landslip.

Chemical Spill Closes Part Of A1 Carriageway
A chemical spill caused by an accident involving two lorries closed part of the A1 in North Yorkshire on Monday. North Yorkshire Police said the crash happened on the northbound carriageway at 4.00pm. The road was closed for more than four hours, but had reopened by 9.00pm.
