Police Launch Murder Investigation After Woman Is Found Stabbed In A Field
A mother who was found dead in a field in the New Forest is believed to have been stabbed to death.
Penelope Davis, 47, was looking after her horses at the time of the attack. Her husband, Pete, found her body on Ley Green Farm in Beaulieu.
Police have launched a murder investigation and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
Detective Superintendent Paul Barton, who is leading the investigation said: "We are treating the discovery of a woman's body in Beaulieu as murder.
"I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area of Lyndhurst Road, Beaulieu yesterday, Tuesday 2nd September between 2pm and 5pm to contact us.
"We will be increasing our patrols in the area but I want to remind the community that crimes of this nature are extremely rare."

Police were called to reports of a fire at a ground floor flat in Finch Close, Barnet just before 6am on Monday, 12 October. Officers, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade attended and found an unresponsive man trapped inside.

Merseyside police said that the woman's body was found in the Fairfield area on Monday, 28 September. A post-mortem examination has confirmed that the woman died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.
