Man Found Dead And Another Seriously Injured During Armed Robbery Call

Police responding to a report of an armed robbery in Derbyshire discovered a man stabbed to death and another suffering serious injuries.

Police say that as they responded to the One Stop Shop in Charlotte Street, Ilkeston at about 05:35 on Thursday morning, where an armed robbery had been reported, they received another call saying that two men had been stabbed at a house on the same street.

It is understood that one man, aged in his 30s, was found dead and another was badly injured. He was taken to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, his condition is said to critical.

Police have arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of murder and wounding with intent.

Police remain at the scene, which has been sealed pending a forensic examination.

It is not yet know if the two incidents are related.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Investigation continues as armed officers shoot man dead
Investigations were continuing today following the killing of a 23-year old man by armed officers from the Metropolitan Police in the Thornton Heath area of south London. According to police, a handgun was recovered at the scene of the shooting, which took place at around 11.25am on Wednesday in Raymead Passage, London Road in Thornton Heath.
