HLF Earmark £2.2m For 'Wildlife Haven'

The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has secured £2.2 million to create a new "wildlife haven", that will link existing wildlife corridors in Cheshire and Greater Manchester.

It is hoped the new haven will help wildlife such as birds, mammals and insects to flourish in the area.

It is understood that the HLF has not yet received a full application for the project but has earmarked the money to ensure its availability.

The site to be developed includes Special Scientific Interest, Special Areas of Conservation and nature reserves.
