Rail Replacement Bus Carrying 50 People Hit By Lorry

A bus carrying fifty people was hit by a lorry on the A34 in Oxfordshire in the early hours of Monday morning.

The First Great Western rail replacement bus was carrying rail passengers from Oxford to Didcot when it was hit by the lorry at about 00:30 on Monday.

Three people are understood to have needed hospital treatment following the collision. Police have described their injuries as "serious but not life-threatening".

An investigation into the cause of the collision is underway and the southbound carriageway remains closed.

Lorry Spills £1,500 Cash Across Road In Swindon
A road was forced to closed in Swindon on Thursday after a lorry carrying money scattered approximately £1,500 in cash across a carriageway. The incident occurred after 1:30pm in Mead Way. Police were called to the scene and closed the northbound road from Mead roundabout. The money was cleared from the road. It is understood no one was injured.

Civil Servants Strike As Budget Announced
In a dispute over pay and pensions civil servants are holding a one-day strike to coincide with the Budget announcement. The Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union will hold a rally in Westminster during the chancellor's Budget speech.
