Amateur Fossil Hunter Makes 'Once In A Lifetime' Find

The 7ft skeleton of a carnivorous marine reptile has been uncovered on a beach in south Wales.

Amateur fossil hunter Jonathan Bow is said to have discovered the ichthyosaur while walking the shoreline in the Penarth area.

The discovery, said to be "large and complete" has been described by the National Museum Wales as a "once in a lifetime find".

6,000-Year-Old Encampment Found Near Stonehenge

An untouched 6,000-year-old encampment has been found by Archaeologists working on a site near Stonehenge.

It is understood that the site at Blick Mead was uncovered in October, but researchers from the University of Buckingham have just confirmed the age of the encampment using carbon dating.

The university has said that the discovery "could rewrite British history".

Mandy Rice-Davies Dies Aged 70

Former model Mandy Rice-Davies has died aged 70.

Ms Rice-Davies was at the centre of the Profumo affair in the 1960s, which threatened to bring down Harold MacMillan's government.

Mr Rice-Davies had been battling cancer.

Body Of Newborn Baby Found In Cardiff River
Police in Cardiff have reportedly recovered the body of a newborn baby from the River Taff. It is understood that South Wales Police were called to the scene at about 18:00 on Tuesday. The scene has been sealed and an investigation is underway. Police have appealed for information.

Two Men Charged Over Methyr Tydfil Heroin Seizure
Two men have been charged with possession with intent to supply following the discovery of heroin in Merthyr Tydfil. South Wales Police seized heroin worth an estimated £40,000, while executing a search warrant at an address in Thomas Dyke, Penydarren.

11-Year-Old Arrested In Connection With Wild Fires
South Wales Police have arrested a number of children, one as young as 11, in connection with grass fires across the Rhondda valley, which has suffered more grass fires than any other south Wales area.
