Actor Dropped From Coronation Street After Age Lie
Actor Katie Redford has been dropped from the cast of Coronation Street amid claims that she lied about her age to win a part of a 14-year-old.
She had been announced for the soap last week, playing the role of Bethany Platt, granddaughter to Gail McIntyre. In a press released by the television programme, Ms Redford was said to be aged 19.
However, according to showbiz website, Digital Spy, the actor is actually 25. An spokesperson for the actor later stated that Ms Redford had "auditioned as a 19-year-old".
ITV have said that the produces of Coronation Street have taken the decision to recast the role of Bethany Platt.
Family Invoiced After Son Misses Friend's Birthday Party
The family of a five-year-old boy have received an invoice for £15.95 for the child's failure to attend a friend's birthday party.
The parents of Alex Nash, from Cornwall, were invoiced by Julie Lawrence, who claims that the child's non-attendance "left her out of pocket".
Derek Nash said that the invoice states that they would be taken to small claims court if they failed to pay.
Large Sinkhole Opens Up On Golf Course
A 9ft deep and 22ft wide sinkhole has appeared at the Traigh Golf Course near Mallaig.
The large hole is believed to have been caused by heavy rain washing away a drain that ran beneath part of the course.
It has been estimated that it will cost £16,000 to repair the hole.

Lily Allen Suffers Miscarriage
Pop singer Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage, it has been confirmed. The 22-year-old announced that she was expecting her first child with boyfriend, Ed Simons, 37, from dance duo the Chemical Brothers in December. At the time, her spokesperson said that the pregnancy was in a very early stage and asked for the singer's privacy to be respected.

'Coronation Street' actor Craig Charles has received a caution for possession of a Class A drug. The 42-year-old Liverpool-born actor was suspended from the soap in June after the 'Daily Mirror' published photographs of him apparently smoking crack cocaine in the back of a car.
