Police Hunt Man Wanted In Connection With Attempted Rape
Police have appealed for help in tracing a man they want to speak to in connection with an attempted rape in Southwark.
The Metropolitan Police are trying to find 33-year-old Iulian Tirda, a Romanian national who was last known to be sleeping rough in central London.
They want to speak to him in connection with the attempted rape of a woman in Newington Causeway, SE1.
On Monday, 20 April at approximately 03:00, a 28-year-old woman was subjected to an attempted rape by a man she had met earlier that day.
The man is alleged to have pinned her down and taken off her clothes. The victim managed to smash a glass on the man's head before screaming for help. The suspect fled the scene.
Anyone who has seen Iulian Tirda or has any information as to his whereabouts should not approach him and contact police immediately on 999. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org

Northumbria Police Renew Rape Investigation Appeal
Police investigating an attempted rape in Newcastle have issued a new appeal for information. On September 3 in 2014 a report was received of an attempted rape of a 14-year-old girl. It's believed the incident happened in the park opposite Bedeburn Road and Newbiggin Lane in Newcastle sometime in May.

Police have appealed for help identifying a man they want to speak to in connection with an attempted rape in Southwark. Police have reported that a 28-year-old woman was attacked at an address in Newington Causeway at about 03:00 on Monday, 20 April. The woman was at the house with a male friend and the man police wish to speak to.

The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.
