Police Launch Murder Enquiry After Birmingham Shooting

Police have launched a murder enquiry after a man who was shot during disorder in Birmingham died on Friday morning, 30 October.

The shooting happened at approximately 4:30am in Soho Hill, Hockley.

Officers were called to the scene after reports of a large group of men in the road and the sound of a firearm being discharged.

The 25-year-old victim from Handsworth presented himself at hospital with a gunshot wound but later died.

A vehicle used to drop the victim at the hospital has been recovered by police.

Another man with gunshot injuries was found at Soho Hill and remains in a critical condition.

Detective Chief inspector Caroline Marsh, said: "We are embarking on an extensive CCTV trawl of the area and there is lots of intelligence work going on behind the scenes in a bid to try and understand what may lie behind the shooting.

"I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the Soho Hill area at the time and who saw the incident or anything suspicious to contact West Midlands Police or Crimestoppers."

Police Name Bus Stop Shooting Victim
Police have named the man who was shot dead at a south London bus stop at the weekend as Daniel Famakinwa. The 20-year-old, from Manor Park, east London, was found at the bus stop at Waylett Place, West Norwood around 4:15am on Saturday. He had suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and was taken to hospital, where he later died.

Police Name Shooting Victim
A man - killed in what police have described as a 'gang-related' shooting that left three others in hospital - has been named. James Kamara, 22, from the Pitsmoor area of Sheffield, was shot dead in Brunswick Street, in the Broomhill area on Wednesday night. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shop Shooting Victim Named As Police Question Teenager
Police have been given more time to question a teenager over the murder of a youth who was shot dead in a London supermarket. Ryan Bravo, 18, was shot at the Costcutter store on Camberwell Road, Walworth, on Wednesday. He died of a single gunshot wound to the back. Police believe the teenager was an innocent bystander, caught in the line of fire.
