Boxer found guilty over car crash

Former world boxing champion Naseem Hamed has been warned that he could face jail after pleading guilty to a dangerous driving charge.

The 31-year-old former featherweight champion from Sheffield was charged following a three-car crash, involving the boxer's £300,000 McLaren-Mercedes, at Ringinglow Road in Sheffield in May last year.

One man suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Hamed was banned from driving and granted bail at Sheffield Crown Court. However, The Recorder of Sheffield, Judge Alan Goldsack warned Hamed that he could face a prison sentence.

The case has been adjourned until May 12 to allow pre-sentencing reports to be prepared.
