PC 'may have been killed with own knife'

Special Constable Nisha Patel-Nasri may have murdered with her own kitchen knife, police have revealed.

The 29-year-old bled to death after being stabbed in the leg outside her home in Sudbury Avenue, Wembley, north London, last Thursday night.

It is believed that she went outside in her night clothes just before midnight after hearing a disturbance outside. Police believe she may have taken the kitchen knife outside with her.

A weapon has not been found. Police are keen to trace the knife - a John Lewis Evolution stainless steel knife, which is 33cm in length. One of these is understood to be missing from Mrs Patel-Nasri's kitchen.

Police are also seeking to question a second man in connection with Mrs Patel-Nasri's murder. He was seen walking away from the scene of the attack. A man wearing a hooded top, who was seen running away from the scene, is also being sought by police.

Referring to the second man, Detective Superintendent Julian Worker said: "The truth of the matter is Nisha was screaming and he doesn't look back.

"Everybody's attention may have been drawn to the man running away instead of the man walking away.

"He may not have been involved, but I definitely need that person to come forward."

Police also want to hear from a young couple who may have seen the man in the hooded top fleeing the scene.

Police have said that they are keeping an open mind about the motive for the killing.

Possible links to an attempted burglary at the house earlier in the month are being investigated as one line of inquiry.
