Man arrested in Morocco over £53 million Kent raid

A 26-year-old man from south London has been arrested in Morocco in connection with the £53 million Securitas raid in Tonbridge, Kent.

Lee Murray, from Sidcup was arrested on suspicion of robbery, kidnap and other offences connected with the raid.

It is understood that he has been under surveillance in Morocco for around two months.

Attempts are now being made to extradite Mr Murray to the UK.

Mr Murray was one of four men arrested in a shopping centre in Rabat on Sunday.

The other three men, also reportedly from Britain, are not wanted in connection with February's raid.

Kent Police have also confirmed that two men, from Devon and Hampshire have also been arrested on suspicion of money laundering and that a signifcant amount of cash had been recovered. However, police have not confirmed a direct link with the depot robbery.

Five men and two women face various charges in connection with February's robbery - the largest cash robbery in Britain.

All seven are due to reappear in court on July 10.

Man Arrested Over Fatal Suspected Bank Raid
A man has been arrested in connection with a suspected armed robbery in which two men were shot and killed. The man was arrested in the Raynes Park in southwest London. The two men who were killed were shot by police firearms officers outside a branch of HSBC bank in Chandler's Ford in Southampton on Thursday.
