Teen rapist sentenced to nine years in prison
A teenager who raped an 11-year-old girl in the toilets of a supermarket has been sentenced to nine years detention.
The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, assaulted the girl at Sainsbury's store in Lemington Spa, Warwickshire, in March 2.
Judge Marten Coates, at Coventry Crown courts, said: "You took an opportunity when (the victim) bacame separated from her mother. You seized her from behind and, with her eyes and her mouth covered by your hands, you dragged her to a toilet cubicle. The incident appears to have been concluded abruptly because of the fortunate arrival of somebody else into the toilet block."
After raping the girl, he kissed her on the cheek and threatened to hurt her if she told anyone.
The girl told her mum immediately, who contacted the police and the search began. (CD)

Jail For Manchester Rapist
A man convicted of a number of 'historic' sex offences against a young girl was today jailed for six years. Paul William Murphy, 48, from Moss Side, was found guilty of rape and sexual assault at Manchester Crown Court Crown Square. He has been sentenced to serve six years for rape and four years for sexual assault to run concurrently.

Handicapped Girl's Rapist Jailed
A rapist has been sentenced at Inner London Crown Court following his earlier conviction. Rafal Piotr Smucz, 29, of no fixed address was jailed indefinitely and ordered to serve a minimum of six years.

The 48-year-old from Acton in west London had denied the murder of schoolgirl Katerina Koneva, claiming that it had been a case of mistaken identity. Baby Girl Dies In Dog Attack
An 11-month-old baby has died after being mauled by a pet dog, police in Lancashire have said. The baby girl, from Emily Street in Blackburn, died in hospital at about 23:00 on Monday. Police have arrested a 26-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of child neglect in connection with the incident.
