Murder hunt police find man's car at Heathrow

Police have found a car at Heathrow airport belonging to a man being sought in connection with the murder of a woman and her three children in Greater Manchester.

Officers are still trying to trace Rahan Arshad, 36, from Turves Road in Cheadle Hume, who has not been seen for several weeks.

The bodies of a 32-year-old woman and three children, aged 11, 8 and 6 were found in a house in Turves Road on Sunday, after Greater Manchester Police received reports of concern for welfare.

Formal identification of the bodies has not yet taken place, but they are believed to be Uzma Rahan and her children, Adam, 11, Abbas, eight and six-year-old Henna.

It is believed that the bodies may have been at the house for up to four weeks. The cause of death is not known at this stage, but post-mortem examinations are expected to be carried out in due course.

Mr Rahan is believed to be the husband and father of the deceased.

His BMW 320 sports coupé was discovered in a car park at Heathrow Airport on Monday night.

Police said that the car appeared to have been parked at the airport for several weeks. Enquiries are now being made with the airport and airlines in order to establish if he has travelled from the airport recently.

Detective Superintendent Martin Bottomley, who is leading the murder investigation, appealed for Mr Rahan to get in touch. He said: "We are concerned for his welfare. We are treating it as a murder inquiry, therefore we need to speak to him."

Officers have appealed for anyone who has seen anything suspicious at the house, or who has any further information on Mr Rahan's whereabouts, to contact the incident room on: 0161 856 7834 or Crimestoppers anonymously on: 0800 555 111.
