Police appeal for missing teenager

Police in Bolton have issued an urgent appeal for information about a 14-year-old girl who has been missing since Monday night.

Sakima Oozeer was last seen at her home on Bolton Road in Farnworth around 9pm on Monday night.

Police said that they were becoming "increasingly concerned" about her whereabouts because she had never been missing from home before and is believed to be very close to her family.

According to reports, it is feared that Sakima may have gone to meet a man she contacted over the internet.

Sakima's older sister, Nadia, 26, made an appeal for her sister to come home. She said: "Please come home, call us or just get in touch to say that you are ok. Don't be scared of coming home, we aren't angry with you, we just want you to come home or call. We're all frantically looking for you and we love you, we just want you to come home."

Sakima is described as Asian, about 5ft 3in tall and of a large build. She has long black hair and when she was last seen was wearing dark blue jeans and a black and pink stripy jumper and was carrying a blue bag.

Anyone who has information about Sakima's whereabouts or who may have seen her since Monday is asked to call Greater Manchester Police on: 0161 856 5050 or the National Missing Person's Helpline on: 0500 700 700.
