Schoolgirl arrested over teenager's death

A 14-year-old girl has been arrested following the death of her 16-year-old sister in West Yorkshire.

A 16-year-old girl was found with serious injuries at an address in Ovenden in Halifax after police were called to the address shortly before 11pm on Monday night.

She was taken to Calderdale Royal Hospital, but later died.

West Yorkshire Police said that the 14-year-old had been detained at the hospital, where she had been taken also suffering from stab injuries, and had been arrested in connection with the incident.

A murder investigation has been launched.

IPCC Ask North Yorkshire Police For Savile Review
North Yorkshire Police has been asked to review “all relevant material” relating to contact its officers had with Jimmy Savile. According to the BBC, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is acting "in light of information received" and said it wanted to know whether there were "conduct matters that should be referred to us".

Four Appear In Court Accused Of Murder
A man and three teenagers have appeared in court accused of murdering a young boy in a public park. Amar Aslam, 17, was found in a West Yorkshire park on Sunday evening by two passers-by. Emergency services were called to Crow Nest Park, Dewsbury at around 7.00pm but Amar was pronounced dead at the scene.

Children questioned about attempted murder
A fifth child has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a five-year-old boy suffered neck injuries in West Yorkshire. Four other children – two girls aged 12 and 11 and two boys, also aged 12 and 11 – are also in custody and are being questioned about the incident.
