Woman 'hit by lorry' on M1

Police have confirmed that a woman whose body was found on the M1 on Thursday was hit by an articulated lorry.

The north and southbound carriages of the M1 were closed between junctions 10 and 11 near Luton on Thursday, following the discovery of the woman's body shortly after 10am.

It is believed that the woman was involved in a collision with a Daf articulated lorry.

The 29-year-old woman, who has not yet been formally identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male lorry driver was unhurt.

An investigation into the collision is now underway and an inquest will be opened and adjourned in due course.

Police Find Woman And Children In Refrigerated Lorry
Police in Bristol have discovered a woman and two children in the back of a refrigerated lorry. Avon and Somerset Police said the driver of the lorry reported hearing voices from inside the lorry. Police believe the woman and children were in the back of the lorry for two days before being discovered.

Disabled Woman Found Dead In Car
A disabled woman found stabbed to death in her car near her home in Harlow, Essex, has been named. Jennifer Macaree was discovered in Hadley Grange on the outskirts of Harlow early on Saturday. Essex Police confirmed she was in the driver's seat of her black Vauxhall Corsa in a parking area near her flat shortly after 3am.

Baby Death Mother Named
The British woman charged with causing the death of her newborn baby in a hotel room in Crete has been named. Leah Andrew, from London, has been charged with infantide after being arrested in Malia on Tuesday. Ms Andrew was rushed to hospital by local residents after giving birth alone in her room.

Man arrested over canal torso find
A man has been arrested following the discovery of a woman's torso in a suitcase which was floating in London's Regent's Canal. Police were called to the Regents Canal in Islington on Saturday after a group of teenagers spotted a suitcase floating in the water. They managed to pull the case from the water and discovered a human torso inside.
