Doctor remanded over car bomb plot
A doctor charged with conspiring to cause explosions in relation to the failed car bombings in London and Glasgow has been remanded in custody.
Dr Mohammed Asha, 26, appeared before the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court. He has been remanded in custody for one week.
Dr Asha was arrested on June 30 while driving on the M6 in Cheshire. His 27-year-old wife was in the car with him and was also arrested, but she was later released without charge.
Dr Asha is accused of conspiring with Bilal Abdullah, Kafeel Ahmed and "others unknown".
He is the fourth person to be charged in connection with the alleged plot to detonate two car bombs in London on June 29 and the attack in Glasgow, which saw a burning Jeep being driven into the doors of the main terminal of Glasgow airport, the following day.
Bilal Abdullah, 27, was charged on July 6 with conspiring to cause explosions. He was arrested at Glasgow airport following the failed attack. He is due to appear before the Old Bailey on July 27.
Sabeel Ahmed, 26, was charged with withholding information that could prevent an act of terrorism on July 14 and appeared at the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday. He was remanded in custody until August 13.
Mohammed Haneef, 27, an Indian doctor, was charged with providing support to a terrorist organisation in Brisbane, Australia. He was granted bail, but will have to remain behind bars under Australian immigration law.
Kafeel Ahmed, the brother of Sabeel, remains in a critical condition in hospital after suffering 90% burns to his body in the Glasgow airport attack. He is under police guard.
Two trainee doctors, aged 25 and 28, who were arrested at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley on July 2 were later released without charge.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Mobile provide EE is to refund around £1m to a number of customers wrongly charged VAT between October 2012 and October 2014. It is understood that EE customers who travelled outside the EU during those dates and used internet data were affected by the charges. The company estimated it as being about 0.5% of its customers.

A 30-year-old man arrested in Scotland for a suicide bombing in Stockholm has been charged. The foreign national, who has not been named, was charged with Terrorism offences. Last Tuesday, Strathclyde Police arrested the man following a raid in the Whiteinch area of Glasgow.

Man Faces Baby Murder Charge
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a four-month-old baby girl. Craig Jamieson, 28, from Scotscoun, appeared before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, where he was remanded in custody. Mr Jamieson was arrested on Friday, shortly after the baby died in Glasgow's Yorkhill Hospital, after being taken from her home in Partick.
