Teenager attacked by masked man
Police in Wigtownshire have appealed for witnesses after a masked man attacked a teenage girl in her home.
The 15-year-old was attacked in her home in Kirkcowan around 3am on Sunday. The attacker was described as around 6ft tall and broad-shouldered. He was wearing a dark balaclava and a dark-coloured top with a white logo at the chest level.
Detective Inspector Chris Johnstone from Galloway CID said: "We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the Main Street area of Kirkcowan on the early hours of Sunday morning.
"This man has displayed some extremely concerning behaviour as he entered a private property in the middle of the night and left a girl frightened."

Police are searching for a man who raped a 13-year-old girl in Greater Manchester. The teenager was attacked as she walked home from the Texaco garage on Bury Road, in Bamford, Rochdale. She spotted a man as she turned down Half Acre Road who shouted at her to stop. He then followed her and pushed her down an alley where he raped her.

Baby Girl Dies In Dog Attack
An 11-month-old baby has died after being mauled by a pet dog, police in Lancashire have said. The baby girl, from Emily Street in Blackburn, died in hospital at about 23:00 on Monday. Police have arrested a 26-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of child neglect in connection with the incident.

Man arrested over missing teenager
An 18-year-old Italian man has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction in connection with the disappearance of a teenage girl from her home in Essex at the weekend. The 13-year-old girl vanished from her home in Tillingham, near Southminster on Sunday morning after telling her parents that she was going to visit a friend.
