Insurance Executive Charged With Daughter's Murder

An insurance executive has been charged with the murder of his daughter, Scotland Yard has confirmed.

Alberto Izaga, 36, from Albert Embankment in central London, was charged with the murder of his daughter Yanire on June 3 this year.

The two-year-old was found at the family's home suffering from serious injuries and died in hospital two days later.

A post-mortem, carried out on June 7, gave a preliminary finding that she died from a head injury.

Mr Izaga, a Spanish national, appeared before City of Westminster magistrates on Wednesday and released on conditional bail to reappear at the Central Criminal Court on January 9 next year.

He was suspended from his job with insurance company Swiss Re after the incident.
