Lake Trawl For Missing Madeleine

Portuguese police searching for missing British girl Madeleine McCann are to trawl a lake in a fresh bid to find the missing four-year-old.

According to reports, a ten-mile area around the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz - where Madeleine disappeared on May 3 - is also to be searched.

The searches are understood to have been ordered by Paulo Rebelo, who recently took charge of the investigation into Madeleine's disappearance.

Police frogmen are expected to start searching the Barragem da Bravura reservoir, which is 2.5 miles wide, reports have indicated.

Madeleine disappeared from her family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on May 3. Her parents, Gerry and Kate McCann, have been named as official suspects in the case.

However, no charges have yet been brought against the couple, who deny any involvement their daughter's disappearance.
