Bail Granted In Toddler Death Probe

Two people who were arrested after the discovery of the body of a toddler earlier this week have been bailed.

Cheshire Police have released the pair - a 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man - but they are to return to a Runcorn police station at a later date.

They were arrested on Tuesday night after the body of two-year-old Joshua Jones was discovered by paramedics at a house in Murdishaw, Runcorn, Cheshire.

After the arrests, a custody extension was granted allowing detectives to detain the couple until about midday on Thursday.

However, they have now been freed and a police spokesman has added that they are awaiting the results of an extended post-mortem on the child.
