Exeter Blast Man In Court

A man charged in connection with an explosion at an Exeter shopping mall has appeared in court.

Nicky Reilly, 22, of Plymouth, appeared at the Old Bailey via video link from Belmarsh Prison under the name Mohamed Saeed-Alim.

Mr Reilly has been charged with three offences in connection with the incident at Giraffe restaurant on May 22.

Mr Reilly was treated for lacerations to his eye and facial burning.

He was the only one injured.

The charges include conduct in preparation for committing acts of terrorism, possession of an explosive substance with intent and possession of explosives.

The judge presiding over the case, Mr Justice Calvert-Smith said any trial may be held in the West Country.

It is understood that Mr Reilly, who has a history of mental illness, has converted to Islam.

Leading the investigation, Deputy Chief Constable Tony Melville said at a news conference last month that the suspect appeared be "vulnerable" and that he had been "preyed upon".

The case has been adjourned to October 15 for a plea to be heard.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Mobile provide EE is to refund around £1m to a number of customers wrongly charged VAT between October 2012 and October 2014. It is understood that EE customers who travelled outside the EU during those dates and used internet data were affected by the charges. The company estimated it as being about 0.5% of its customers.

Teen Remanded Over Rhys Jones' Murder
A teenage boy has appeared in court today, charged with the murder of Merseyside schoolboy Rhys Jones. The 17-year-old appeared before Liverpool Magistrates Court charged with the fatal shooting of eleven-year-old Rhys in Croxteth, Liverpool, last August.

Two more arrested over teenager's murder
Two more teenagers have been arrested in connection with the murder of London teenager Paul Erhahon. The pair, aged 15 and 18, were arrested in east London on Tuesday morning. Paul died after being attacked and stabbed outside a block of flats in Leytonstone on April 6. His 15-year-old friend was also stabbed but survived the attack.
