Murray Reaches Final Of U.S. Open

Scotsman Andy Murray will be the first Briton since 1936 to win the U.S. Open final if he beats Roger Federer in the final on Monday.

The 21-year-old beat his rival Rafael Nadal in four sets at the US Open semi-final at Flushing Meadows in New York, winning 6-2 7-6 4-6 6-4.

Murray told Sky Sports: "It's awesome to beat him, a great feeling. He's beaten me five times in a row, so that was tough, and to do it in a semi meant it was really difficult."

Murray has admitted that the final game will be tough and he will have to play "great" to gain victory.

Fred Perry was the last British man to win the U.S. Open in 1936.

Murray Defeated in US Open Final
Roger Federer won his fifth consecutive US Open title on Monday, defeating scotsman Andy Murray. Federer scooped the title by winning straight sets, 6-2, 7-5, 6-2 and he has become the first male to win five titles in a row.

Two Men Escape From Spring Hill Open Prison
A convicted murderer and another dangerous man have absconded from an open prison in Buckinghamshire. Darren Douglas, 46, from Birmingham, is serving a life sentence for stabbing a man to death outside a pub in 1998. Ricardo Dunn, 32, from Burnley, is serving an indeterminate sentence for attacking a man in the street in 2009.

One Of Two Absconded Prisoners Found
Anthony Peloe, 43, one of the two men who absconded from Thorn Cross open prison in Warrington, Cheshire, at about 10.30am on Tuesday has been found, according to the Cheshire Police. The criminal, who was convicted of possessing firearms in 2005, has been detained and is in custody while John Arnold, who he escaped with, has not yet been found.
