BA Flight Forced To Make 'Priority Landing'

A British Airways (BA) pilot has been forced to request a "priority landing" at Heathrow Airport, after fumes were detected in the passenger cabin.

According to the airline, BA Flight 341 which had taken off from Nice, France at around 6.30am on Monday landed safely and none of the 137 passengers were injured.

It also said engineers were checking the Boeing 757 to uncover the cause of the incident.

A BA spokesman said: "The captain of today's BA 341 Nice to Heathrow flight requested a priority landing as a precaution after it was reported that some fumes had been detected in the cabin.

"The 757 with 137 passengers on board landed safely and passengers disembarked as normal."

He also said emergency services were on standby as a routine precaution, but were not needed.

Meanwhile, on Sunday a British Airways Boeing 777 headed to Delhi in India, carrying 222 passengers and 16 crew members, was forced to make an emergency landing at a German airport following technical problems on the flight that were said to have been centred on the in-flight entertainment system.

The plane landed safely in Schoenefeld airport, south-east of Berlin, and there were no injuries.
