BA Emergency Landing Due To 'Burning Smell'
A British Airways from London to the US has been forced to make an emergency landing at Chicago's O'Hare airport, the airline has revealed.
Flight BA195 from London's Heathrow to Houston was diverted after "what was thought to be a burning smell" was detected onboard the craft.
A BA spokeswoman said the smell was due to a fault with one of the television screens used for in-flight entertainment which had since been repaired.
BA also said that none of the 90 passengers and 15 crew members were in danger.
A spokeswoman said: "We apologise for the inconvenience to passengers, but the crew did exactly the right thing in diverting as a precaution."
The passengers and crew were taken into the terminal building at Chicago, when the plane landed at 1.20pm local time on Sunday.
They were then transferred on to domestic flights to enable them to continue their journey to Houston.
Yesterday, in Belfast, fire and ambulance crews were alerted after reports of a problem with a flight that had just arrived.
The passengers were given a scare when smoke was spotted coming from underneath the plane which had just arrived from Murcia in the South of Spain.
However, passengers disembarked normally at Belfast International Airport after the emergency services were put on full standby as it taxied in.

BA Flight Forced To Make 'Priority Landing'
A British Airways (BA) pilot has been forced to request a "priority landing" at Heathrow Airport, after fumes were detected in the passenger cabin. According to the airline, BA Flight 341 which had taken off from Nice, France at around 6.30am on Monday landed safely and none of the 137 passengers were injured.

A Qantas jumbo jet flight that was en route from London to Melbourne has made an emergency landing after a gaping hole suddenly appeared in its fuselage. Qantas Airways said its Boeing 747-400, with 346 passengers and 19 crew, was diverted to Manila and "landed safely".

The Boeing 737-300 series flight was travelling from Belfast to Spain, however the pilot reported a suspected fuel leak and the flight was diverted to Cork. The aircraft landed safely and none of the passengers or staff were injured.
