Reward Offered Following 'Devoted' Eroll's Murder

Detectives investigating the murder of a 24-year-old in south London in October last year have offered an award of £20,000 for any information that would lead to a prosecution.

Errol Davis died in the SeOne Club in Weston Street, south London, on Sunday 5 October 2008.

Police were called to the club at 5.40am and found Mr Davis suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the Royal London Hospital, but was later pronounced dead.

A post mortem examination gave cause of death a gunshot to the head.

The 24-year-old had been on a night out with friends, and it is believed he was approached by a man who produced a gun and shot him once from close range.

DI Audrey Teodorini from Trident said: "The club was still busy at the time of the murder and we know there were a number of witnesses to the murder and events that preceded it.

"Naturally, when the shot was fired the crowd dispersed and many left the scene. It is those people, or anyone who has any information to the murder, who we are keen to hear from.

"We are hoping that the reward now being offered will enable us to move forward on the investigation, for the sake of Errol's grieving family."

In a statement issued by the 24-year-old's aunt Cash Ryan, on behalf of his family, described him as "devoted to his family" and "extremely caring and loving" towards them.

She added he was just about to embark on a modelling career, and the pictures he had in his portfolio "told so much about the beautiful person he had aspired to come".

Ms Ryan concluded: "So many young black men are being killed by other black men without any value or respect for the black community that we are part of.

"When others look at this imagine how they shake their heads in disgust and also our fore-parents who struggled to pave the way for our acceptance and integration into this society."
