Police Appeal On Anniversary Of Glasgow Shooting

Detectives in Glasgow have issued a new sketch of a man they want to trace in relation to a shooting which took place exactly a year ago today.

A 47-year-old female financial adviser spent weeks in intensive care after being shot in the neck by a lone gunman in Glasgow's Chinatown area.

Police are appealing for information about a white man, aged in his 40s with a Scottish accent, who was seen in the area shortly before the attack.

Detectives are also trying to establish a motive for the shooting.

"She was going about her normal business," Det Insp John Mellon of Strathclyde Police said.

"She is a wife, a mother and we can find no reason why she should have been the intended victim."

"She is still coming to terms with what happened to her. Her quality of life is never going to be as it was prior to this incident," he said.

"She is a fighter but still suffering greatly from this attack."

Det Insp Mellon also said the only known link with the Chinese community, was the location of the shooting, and both the victim and the man police wish to trace were white caucasians.
