Londonderry Port is a Trust Port and was established in 1854. In 1993 the port moved three miles outside the city to its current location at Lisahally. The port handled approx 1.1 million tonnes of bulk cargo in 2000. These products included coal, animal feedstuffs, oil and glass minerals. The port also has the ability to load and unload containers.
