Appeal After Portavogie Stabbing
Police have appealed for information after a man was stabbed in Portvogie, Co Down.
The 37-year-old victim was attacked at around 6.30pm yesterday. He was in the Springfield Gardens area of the village at the time.
He sustained stab wounds in the attack. His current medical situation is not yet known.
Officers in Newtownards would like to speak to anyone was in the area at the time and noticed any suspicious activity.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a young women has been threatened with a knife in south Belfast.
The 19-year-old was approached at around midnight while walking along the Lower Cresent area.
SDLP MP Alasdair McDonnell said it was a "blessing" the attacker was disturbed before he could cause any harm
"My thoughts are with this young woman. She has been through a terrifying ordeal," he said.
"I would urge anyone with any information about this attack to contact the police. This man is dangerous and must be caught and prosecuted."

Police are appealing for information following the report of an assault in the Edlingham Street/Newlodge Road area of Belfast last Thursday. At approximately 9.30pm a male was assaulted by 4/5 unknown males. He received facial injuries which required hospital treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a stabbing incident in Downpatrick. Police received a report shortly after 6pm on Saturday, 17th February that a man had been stabbed on a pathway in the St Dympnas Avenue area of the town.
