Arrests Follow 'Paramilitary' Attack In Larne

Police have arrested two men, aged 28 and 33, following what is being described as a "paramilitary style attack" in Larne.

The attack happened in the Shanlea Drive area on Friday afternoon at about 12:40.

Officers were called to the area following an attack on a man. Police said the man was beaten with baseball bats and sustained serious head injuries.

Aged in his twenties, the victim has been taken to hospital for treatment for injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.

Two men have been arrested in the Larne area about an hour after the attack was reported. Both were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and are being questioned by detectives.

Man Wanted On Murder Charge In Spain Arrested In Craigavon
A 22-year-old man wanted in Spain in connection with a murder investigation has been arrested in Craigavon. Officers from the PSNI's International Policing Unit and Lurgan Local Policing Team worked with the National Crime Agency and Spanish authorities to track the wanted person down to an address in the Craigavon area on Friday 23rd February.

Man Pleads Guilty To Number Of Sexual Offences Against Children
A 31-year-old man who travelled to Belfast to meet what he thought was a 13-year-old girl, has pleaded guilty to a number of sexual abuse offences against children. Anil Patel pled guilty to attempted sexual communication with a child, arranging the commission of a child sex offence and possessing extreme pornography of children.
