Thunderstorm Warning Issued For NI

Northern Ireland is set to be battered by heavy showers and thunderstorms this weekend.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning to take effect from 7pm on Friday and last until 10am on Saturday.

Forecasters said there is a good chance driving conditions will worsen due to spray, standing water and possible hail.

Train delays are likely, with a short term loss of power and other services also possible.

The public are also warned of a chance of damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes or floods.
