Appeal Following Racially Motivated Assault In South Belfast

Police in south Belfast are appealing for witnesses following a racially motivated assault in Aughrim Park on Monday, 3rd February.

The incident occurred at around 5.15pm when a 17-year-old male was approached by a man who subjected him to a series of insulting questions before grabbing him by his coat. The teenager managed to break free and leave the area but was left shaken by the incident.

The suspect is described as being in his 40s or 50s, wearing a white jacket and a cap, and speaking with a local accent.

This matter is being treated as a racially motivated hate crime.
