Family Left Shaken After Racially Motivated Burglary in West Belfast
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has launched an investigation and appealed for information following a reported burglary in the west Belfast area on Thursday, 30 October 2025, which is being treated as a racially motivated hate incident.
Shortly before 8.30pm, it was reported that three men had approached a house in the Glen Road area. The men then forced their way into the property and proceeded to search the rooms before leaving the scene.
The family who were inside the house at the time of the incident were said to be badly shaken by the ordeal. Police are treating the incident as a racially motivated hate crime.
A spokesperson appealed to the public for assistance: "I am appealing to anyone who may have noticed anyone suspicious in the area at the time or to anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with enquiries, to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1425 30/10/25."
Alternatively, information can be submitted online at the PSNI website, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their online reporting tool.

Two unknown males set upon the victim, a man in his 30's, in the Ligoniel Road area on Sunday morning, 03 March. The man received cuts to his head and above his eye, before the culprits made off towards the Crumlin Road area.

Executive Office Urged To Act As Racist Hate Crime Hits Record High
New statistics from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) show that racially motivated hate crimes have reached a record level. In the 12 months leading up to the end of June, there were 1,329 such crimes reported, the highest figure since records began in 2004.
