Belfast Drivers Warned of Saturday Traffic Disruption Due to Parades

Road users are being advised that they may encounter traffic disruption in Belfast this Saturday, 16 May, as a result of two planned parades moving through the city.

The first procession is set to leave Donegall Street in the city centre at approximately 12.00 pm. It is scheduled to travel along Royal Avenue, Castle Place, High Street, Victoria Street, Chichester Street, Wellington Place, College Square East, College Avenue, Castle Street and Donegall Place, before concluding at Donegall Square East at 3.00 pm.

The second parade will begin at around 2.00 pm from Ormeau Park in the east of the city. The route for this procession will take it along Ormeau Embankment, Ravenhill Road, Albertbridge Road, East Bridge Street, Cromac Street, Victoria Street, Chichester Street, Arthur Street, Cornmarket, High Street, Castle Place, Donegall Place and Donegall Square North, before finishing at Belfast City Hall at roughly 5.00 pm.

Drivers are being asked to choose alternative travel routes where possible or to factor additional time into their planned journeys.
