Man Arrested Over Dangerous Motorbike Pursuit
Police in Lurgan have arrested a 30-year-old man as part of an investigation into a group of motorcyclists travelling at dangerous speeds in the early hours of Saturday 25 July. Officers pursued the riders across the Banbridge, Lurgan and Portadown areas.
The man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving while disqualified, no insurance and a number of other road traffic offences. He remains in custody.
Officers are keen to obtain dash-cam, CCTV or other digital footage of the motorcyclists in the Banbridge area, and of the police pursuit in the Plantation Road area of Lurgan and into the Corcrain Drive/Westland Road area of Portadown.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

£650,000 Resurfacing Set For A55 Belvoir Road, Belfast
Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has confirmed a £650,000 carriageway resurfacing programme for the A55 Belvoir Road in Belfast, beginning on Tuesday 11 August 2026. The scheme will cover the stretch between Newtownbreda Road and Saintfield Road and is scheduled to run until Tuesday 6 October 2026 to reduce disruption during peak travel times.
