Image Of Madeline McCann Used To Sell Holiday Discount Vouchers

An online voucher that uses a photograph of Madeleine McCann to sell discounted holidays has been branded an "utter disgrace".

The holiday snap of Madeleine aged three, was taken hours before the youngster disappeared from a Portuguese apartment in 2007.

The advert promotes breaks in a self-catering family apartment in Albufeira, Algarve - not far from the Praia da Luz resort where Madeleine vanished five years ago.

Speaking to Sky News spokesman for the McCann family Clarence Mitchell said: "The misuse of Madeleine's picture in this way is utterly appalling and frankly unforgivable.

"Kate and Gerry were horrified when they found out about it. It is offensive in the extreme.

Scotland Yard Orders Forensic Review In MI6 Death Case

Scotland Yard has ordered a review of forensic evidence as it renews its efforts to solve the death of MI6 officer Gareth Williams.

The Scotland Yard commissioner, Bernard Hogan-Howe, said MI6 employees would be expected to co-operate with police. "It's called the law,'' said Britain's top police officer.

An inquest last week found Williams, whose body was found stuffed in a holdall in a London flat, may have been killed. It also heard police were not told of evidence held by the spy agency, including memory sticks, until last week.

Bionic Women Completes London Marathon

A paralysed Leicestershire woman has become the first person to complete a marathon in a "bionic" suit.

The £43,000 device allows Claire Lomas, who was paralysed from the chest down following a horse riding accident in 2007, to walk by detecting shifts in her balance.

The 32-year-old crossed the finish line at 12:50 BST - 16 days after starting the race with 36,000 other people.
