Man's Body Discovered In River Avon

Avon and Somerset and police have appealed for information following the discovery of a man's body in the River Avon in Bristol.

The body of a man, believed to be aged in his 20s, was recovered from the river in the Hanham area on Wednesday, 30 September.

The death is being treated as unexplained, as officers piece together events leading up the man's death.

A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.

Police said they want to hear from anyone who was in Hanham area near to the River Avon yesterday afternoon – possibly people walking their dogs or members of the public walking alongside the river.

Anyone who is able to help is asked to contact Bristol investigations on 101, quoting reference 0476 of September 30.

Search Underway For Man Spotted In River Avon
A rescue operation is ongoing in a stretch of the River Avon in Bath after a man was reported as being in distress in the river. Avon and Somerset Police responded to an emergency call in the area near Pine's Way at around 04:00. It is understood that officers spoke to the man but were unable to get him out of the water before he went under again.

A body has been found floating in the River Avon in Bristol, police have confirmed. Police were called to the Hotwell Road area of Bristol on Wednesday afternoon following reports that a body had been spotted in the water by ferry workers.

Body Recovered From River Wear Identified
The body of a woman recovered from the River Wear on 30 April has been identified as 22-year-old Rose King. Northumbria Police recovered Ms King's body from the river at about 07:30 on Thursday 30 April.

Investigation Launched Into Hotel Body Find
A murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a woman's body in a Hull hotel room. Police said they were called to the Ibis hotel on Osborne Street at 13:00 on Sunday, where they discovered the body of a woman. She is yet t be identified.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.
