Bride's father charged with her murder
The father of a 23-year-old woman who was found dead at her Nottinghamshire home last month has been charged with her murder.
Terence Rodgers, 55, of no fixed abode, appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court today charged with murdering Chanel Taylor. He was remanded into custody to reappear at Nottingham Crown Court via videolink on August 25.
Newlywed Chanel, 23, was found shot dead at her home in New Street, Huthwaite, on July 30. Mrs Taylor's body was found by her husband Lee – the couple had been married just seven weeks.
Nottinghamshire police arrested Mr Rodgers at around 5.30pm on Monday evening during a planned search of Annesley Woods, near Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

Two people are due to appear in court charged with the murder of a female student whose headless body was found floating in a bag in the River Thames. The body of 23-year-old Xing Xing Xie was found in South Dock Marina in Rotherhithe in April. Her head and hands had been removed.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Man Charged With Murder Of Chatham Woman
A man has been charged with the murder of a 32-year-old woman who was found dead at her home in Chatham earlier this month. Jennie Banner was found dead at her flat in New Road on August 19. Marcus Coates, 43, of Ernest Way, Chatham, was charged with murder on August 21. He is due to appear before Medway magistrates court today.
