Four arrested after Manchester pub killings

Four men have been arrested following a shooting at a pub in Salford, Greater Manchester on Sunday March 12.

Two men died in the incident at the Brass Handles pub on Edgehill Close in Pendleton at approximately 2.20pm. Two other men were injured in the incident and are under police guard in hospital.

The four men arrested, who are all believed to be in their early twenties, continue to be questioned by detectives.

The pub, which was filled with customers watching a Manchester United match at the time, has been sealed off for forensic examination.

Man Arrested Over Kieran McGrath Murder
Detectives investigating the death of a man outside a police station in Greater Manchester have arrested three men. Kieran McGrath, 26, was shot outside the Sheldon Arms pub on 04 October last year. He then drove himself to Ashton-under-Lyne police station and collapsed outside its door. He died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Police question man over Manchester pub shootings
A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the March pub shooting in Manchester which left two men dead. The man, who is from south Manchester, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder by armed police at an address in Radcliffe in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Smoking ban to be enforced early at Wetherspoon pubs
Pub chain, J.D. Wetherspoon have announced that they will ban smoking in all their premises by May 2006, two years before the government restrictions are due to come into force. The pub chain, which already offers non-smoking areas in its bars, will also impose a ban in 60 of its 650 UK pubs this year.

Boy, 16, Shot Dead At Manchester Pub
A murder investigation is underway after a 16-year-old boy was shot dead at a pub in Greater Manchester. Officers were called to the Robin Hood pub in Barton Road, Stretford, Manchester, following reports of shots being fired shortly before midnight.

Teenage girl charged over man's murder
A 16-year-old girl has been charged with the murder of Paul Sandbach in Greater Manchester at the weekend. The 53-year-old former pub landlord from Sandbach Road in Sale Moor, was assaulted near Cafe Nero on School Road early on Sunday morning. He suffered a head injury in the attack and was treated at the scene, but declined to go to hospital.
