Teenager still held over sister's death

Police are continuing to question a 14-year-old girl in connection with the fatal stabbing of her 16-year-old sister in West Yorkshire.

Both girls were found at a house in Ovenden in Halifax suffering from stab wounds on Monday night.

Both girls were taken to Calderdale Royal Hospital, but the older girl later died.

The younger girl was treated in hospital for stab wounds before being taken to a police station.

A post-mortem was carried out on the 16-year-old on Tuesday but the results have not yet been made public.

Teenager remanded over sister's death
A 14-year-old girl from West Yorkshire has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of her 16-year-old sister. The teenager appeared before Bradford Magistrates' Court on Thursday. She has been remanded into the care of the local authority and is due to appear before Calderdale Youth Court in Halifax on April 4.

Baby Girl Dies In Dog Attack
An 11-month-old baby has died after being mauled by a pet dog, police in Lancashire have said. The baby girl, from Emily Street in Blackburn, died in hospital at about 23:00 on Monday. Police have arrested a 26-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of child neglect in connection with the incident.

Girl, Six, Bitten By Police Dog
A six-year-old girl has been bitten by a police dog in Manchester, it has been reported. It is understood the officers were chasing a suspect at the time of the incident. Police were pursuing a man who was running away after a stolen car crashed into a wall in the Newton Heath area of the city.

Baby girl suffered 'human bite marks'
Strathclyde Police have launched an investigation after a baby girl was taken to hospital, covered in what is believed to be human bite marks. The 17-week-old child, from Oban, Argyll, was taken to hospital on Saturday.
