Six-year-old boy found hanged at home

A six-year-old boy has died after being found hanged by a skipping rope in his Greater Manchester home.

Mason Jones was found by his mother in an upstairs bedroom of the house on Walmersley Road in Bury on Friday afternoon.

It is believed that he was playing with his sister.

Paramedics were called and Mason was taken to hospital but he died soon afterwards.

Police said that an investigation was launched into Mason's death but said that no suspicious circumstances had been found.

The case has been passed to the coroner.

Couple found dead in museum
Police are investigating a suspected murder and suicide at the World Museum in Liverpool. Merseyside Police were called to the World Museum on Sunday, following reports that a man had fallen to his death from a balcony. However, police then discovered a teenage girl suffering from stab wounds. The pair were taken to hospital where both later died.

Teen Jailed For Killing Sisters In House Fire
A teenager has been jailed for killing his two sisters in a house fire. Eighteen-year-old Shane Spence had previously denied killing Tatum, 14 and Demi-Jade, 12. The young girls died from smoke inhalation at their three-bedroom home in Lisle Road, South Shields, last April.

Youths Quizzed Over Stabbing
Youths are being being questioned over the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old boy. Officers found the injured boy when they were called to reports of a disturbance at Home Park Recreation Ground, in Sydenham, at 6pm yesterday. The teenager was pronounced dead soon after he arrived at hospital.

86-Year-Old Killed In Brutal Assault
An 86-year-old woman was murdered in a "brutal assault" at her Cambridgeshire home, police have confirmed. Una Crown, who was last seen alive on Friday, was found in her bungalow in Magazine Lane, Wisbech, on Sunday morning. Post-mortem tests carried out on Tuesday found she died from injuries sustained in an assault.

Designer 'Hanged Himself In Wardrobe'
Renowned British fashion designer Alexander 'Lee' McQueen died after hanging himself in a wardrobe, an inquest into his death was told today. McQueen was found dead at his London home last Thursday. A note was found at the scene.
