Guns Recovered After Man Shot By Police
A man has been shot dead by police in an east London street.
According to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC), three weapons - not believed to be police guns - were recovered shortly after police shot an armed man dead in a street in Harold Hill, near Romford, Essex.
The man was shot at 2.20pm on Wednesday as he confronted an armed response unit in Honeysuckle Close.
An IPCC spokesman said: "Three weapons have been preserved at the scene and await forensic examination."
It is thought neighbours called officers after the shooting, which followed a domestic dispute between a man and a woman.
The IPCC said the woman was taken to hospital by ambulance with non-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: "Police received reports from the public of a man seen in possession of a firearm.
"Armed officers attended at the request of borough officers.
"A man has been shot in the street by police. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital."

Investigation continues as armed officers shoot man dead
Investigations were continuing today following the killing of a 23-year old man by armed officers from the Metropolitan Police in the Thornton Heath area of south London. According to police, a handgun was recovered at the scene of the shooting, which took place at around 11.25am on Wednesday in Raymead Passage, London Road in Thornton Heath.

A man has been shot dead by police officers in north London. The 43-year-old victim was killed at an address at Picardy House, Cedar Road, Enfield on 30 August. Officers were alerted at 9:35pm of a man at an address in Barnet making threats to kill and in possession of what was believed to be a firearm.

Man Who Threatened Woman With A Knife Shot Dead By Police
A man, who broke into a house in London and threatened a woman with a knife, has been shot dead by police. Officers attended an incident at a property in Islington at around 11pm on Thursday. It is believed that the man and woman knew each other. The woman was not harmed, however she is being treated for shock, according to the Metropolitan Police.
