Police Search For Escaped Murder Suspect
A search is underway after a murder suspect has escaped from a mental health unit.
John Clayton, 28, escaped from the Springfield Hospital in Wandsworth, south London late on Tuesday evening, Metropolitan Police said. Mr Clayton was charged with a murder in Bath in April and was being held at the hospital for a psychiatrist assessment.
He escaped along with John Slavin, who is facing charges of aggravated burglary.
Police have said Mr Clayton is thought to have associates in the Kensington and Chelsea area of London. Mr Slavin, who is originally from Bristol, is known to frequent Aberdeen.
Officers investigating the escape said they are using helicopters and ground search units in their attempts to find the two men.
They were reported missing just after 10pm on Tuesday evening.
The public have been warned not to approach either man, but contact police immediately if they see them.

A violent prisoner from Wormwood Scrubs has absconded after an ambulance taking him to hospital was held up at gunpoint. Police are searching for inmate Joe Farnan who escaped while on the way to Hammersmith Hospital after two men wearing balaclavas, one brandishing a handgun, held up the ambulance and threatened his three guards.

Media personality Myleene Klass has been left "bemused" after receiving a police warning for brandishing a knife at garden intruders through a window. The former Hear'Say singer noticed teenagers entering her garden while she stood in her kitchen. Ms Klass banged the window to scare them off, while holding a knife.

Police Offer Reward For Capture Of Escaped Killer
A £10,000 reward has been offered in exchange for information leading to the recapture of escaped convicted killer Lerone Boye. 27-year-old Boye was jailed for 28 years for the 2011 stabbing death of a 17-year-old-boy. He absconded from the John Howard Centre in Homerton in east London on 16 October.
