Four-Day Armagh Food And Cider Weekend Returns In September

Armagh Food and Cider Weekend will take place from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 September, serving up four days of food, drink and distinctive experiences that honour the borough's orchard heritage and the people behind it.

Now firmly established in the calendar, the festival will spotlight the best of local food, drink and hospitality through more than 40 events across the borough. Inspired by the county's world-famous PGI-status Bramley Apple, the programme spans artisan markets and live cookery demonstrations to standout dining, tastings, orchard tours and family-friendly activities.

Deputy Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough, Alderman Lavelle McIlwrath said: "Armagh Food and Cider Weekend is a celebration of everything that makes this region so special – our people, our produce, our hospitality and our proud orchard heritage. The Bramley apple has shaped the identity of this place for generations and remains at the heart of our food and drink story today.

"The festival provides a fantastic opportunity for local people and visitors alike to come together and enjoy some of the outstanding food and drink experiences available across our borough. It is a chance to celebrate the businesses, growers, producers and hospitality providers who continue to contribute to our reputation as a leading food destination."

Among Saturday's highlights, the Artisan Street Market will bring Armagh city centre to life on 5 September from 12 noon to 5pm, with leading artisan producers, live music and family entertainment. The celebrations continue into the evening at Shambles Yard with Cider in the City from 4pm to 9pm, pairing local cider with music and artisan street food. In Banbridge, the Sundown Market at Solitude Park will host a series of masterclasses across the weekend covering cocktail making, cider tasting and nutritious cooking with local ingredients.

Further highlights include events at Crannagael House, a murder mystery with Armagh Cider Company, The Woodland Supper at On the Hoof, and open-fire cooking at The Old Gamekeepers House, alongside a wide range of other local activities throughout the programme.

Whether you're a passionate foodie, a cider enthusiast, planning a family day out or keen to champion local produce, Armagh Food and Cider Weekend offers something for everyone.
